Grace Mattson joined the Pitt Isotope Tracers Lab in the fall of 2025 as a PhD student. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from Ithaca College in 2024 where her research focused mostly on ecotoxicology of microplastics and PFAs. In December of 2024 she completed an honors thesis on the acute sublethal and lethal effects of tire wear particle leachate on larval fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas.) She has also done work with Mass Audubon as a Natural History Guide, City of Ithaca Water Treatment on a project looking into the impacts of orthophosphate use to mitigate lead exposure in drinking water, and Pace Analytical Labs as a chemical analyst. Her current research interests include using stable isotopes to determine how PFAs affect aquatic ecosystem structure.
